SWEPath ("the app") is provided by MortalApps ("we", "us", "our"). The app is designed with a privacy-conscious approach and aims to minimize unnecessary collection of user data wherever possible.
SWEPath is a technical interview preparation app that uses spaced repetition to help you study topics across role based roadmaps, with quizzes, streaks, and a review schedule that adapts to how well you know each topic.
We do not require user accounts and do not intentionally collect personal information such as:
Most learning progress and activity data is stored locally on your device. This may include:
This locally stored data generally remains on your device unless you:
With your permission where required by applicable law, SWEPath may collect analytics and technical diagnostics information to understand app usage, improve learning features, measure engagement, support premium functionality, optimize monetization, and help sustain the app experience.
Analytics data falls into the following general categories:
Analytics data is generally behavioral and technical in nature and is not intended to directly identify individual users. Purchase analytics events may include the monetary value and currency of a transaction; this is used for business reporting purposes (see 1.4) and is not linked to payment card or banking details, which we never receive (see 4.3).
We do not intentionally use analytics to:
Analytics collection can be turned off from within the app (Settings, "Share Anonymous Analytics"), subject to technical and platform limitations. Crash and stability diagnostics (see 1.4) are handled separately from this setting, since they support basic app reliability rather than behavioral analytics.
SWEPath uses Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and related Google services to collect usage analytics, app diagnostics, engagement metrics, and monetization insights.
Firebase and related Google services may automatically collect technical information including:
Crashlytics diagnostic data is collected to keep the app stable and is not gated behind the analytics setting described in 1.3, since it supports basic reliability rather than behavioral analytics.
We do not intentionally use analytics data to directly identify individual users.

If you choose to report a topic, quiz question, or other content issue, the app transmits:
Reports are used solely to review and improve content quality and accuracy.
Please do not include personal information (such as your name, email address, phone number, or other identifying details) in the free-text details field. This field is optional and intended only for describing the content issue itself.
Topic overviews, key concepts, architecture explanations, common mistakes, production considerations, quiz questions, and related learning materials within the app are generated or assisted using artificial intelligence (AI) systems.
While we strive to review and improve content quality, this material may still contain inaccuracies, omissions, ambiguities, or outdated information. The app is intended for interview-preparation and self-study purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional, hiring, or career advice.
Export Progress (Premium) lets you save your locally stored review history, quiz and topic-attempt history, active roadmap, streak, and app settings as a file you control, for backup or transfer to another device. It does not include your Premium entitlement status, purchase information, or analytics consent preference. Import Progress (Premium) restores from a file you previously exported. These files are created and stored by you, using your device's own file storage or sharing options; we do not receive a copy.
Reset All Progress permanently deletes your review history, streak data, and quiz history from your device. It does not affect your Premium entitlement status, which is managed independently through Google Play (see 4.3).
Where applicable under GDPR or similar privacy regulations, analytics, diagnostics, and related processing activities may be carried out:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
INTERNET |
Used to load topic content updates, process purchases, show ads, submit optional reports, support analytics, and enable app-related online functionality. |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS |
Used for optional daily reminder and streak-related notifications. |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED |
Used to reschedule your daily reminder after your device restarts. |
REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS |
Used to help ensure scheduled reminders fire reliably on devices with aggressive battery management. |
READ_BASIC_PHONE_STATE |
Used to read your device's SIM/network country code, so the app can determine whether to apply the India-specific non-personalized ad behavior described in section 4.2. Not used to access your phone number, call state, or call history. |
SWEPath uses Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and related Google services for analytics, diagnostics, and monetization insights.
Firebase and Google services are operated by Google.
If this app's Firebase project is linked to a Google Ads account, analytics events described in 1.3, including purchase and engagement activity, may also be used by Google Ads for ad conversion tracking and campaign measurement.
SWEPath uses Google AdMob to show rewarded video ads (to unlock topic content and practice quizzes) and native ads (in topic browsing lists). Whether an ad is personalized depends on your region and, where applicable, your choice:
You can review or change your ad consent choice anytime from Settings, "Manage Ad Consent" (shown only where a choice applies to you).
To determine whether the India-specific non-personalized behavior above
applies, the app reads your device's SIM/network country code (see the
READ_BASIC_PHONE_STATE permission in section 3), falling
back to your device's locale setting if no SIM/network country is
available. This is a coarse, on-device check only; it does not use
precise location, GPS, or IP-based geolocation, and the result is not
transmitted anywhere on its own.
Purchases are processed securely through Google Play. We do not receive or store payment card information, banking details, or billing credentials. Your Premium purchase is verified directly with Google Play; SWEPath does not use a third-party subscription-management service.
Optional topic and quiz issue reports are transmitted securely via HTTPS for review and content-quality improvement.
Most learning progress data remains locally on your device.
Analytics, diagnostics, and advertising-related information may be retained by Google and Firebase according to their applicable retention policies. Premium entitlement records are retained by Google Play for as long as needed to manage your access.
We do not maintain traditional personal user accounts or cloud-based personal learning profiles.
SWEPath may use Google Block Store, a Google Play Services feature, to back up your Premium entitlement and any active ad-earned topic unlocks tied to your Google account, so they can be restored if you reinstall the app or set up a new device signed in with the same Google account. This requires Google Play Services and a signed-in Google account; if either is unavailable, this backup is silently skipped and the app continues to work normally from local data. Manually clearing app data, or reinstalling on a different Google Account, does not restore this data automatically; use Export/Import (see 1.7) to migrate progress in those cases.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights relating to:
Since SWEPath does not maintain traditional user accounts or directly identifiable personal learning profiles, many requests may already be satisfied by:
To raise a grievance or ask a question about how your data is handled, contact us using the details in Section 11. We aim to acknowledge grievances promptly and will respond within the time frame required by applicable law.
SWEPath is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. We do not ask for or collect date of birth or other age information, and we have no way to verify a user's age. As a protective measure specific to India's DPDP Act, every ad shown to users in India is always non-personalized (see 4.2), regardless of age. Outside India, ad personalization instead follows the region-specific consent framework described in 4.2, since we have no reliable way to identify minors outside a jurisdiction that legally requires this protection.
SWEPath is a technical interview preparation and self-study application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any employer, hiring platform, or company whose interview process may be referenced generically within the app.
Roadmaps, topics, and quiz questions are organized around common technical interview themes to help guide preparation. They are indicative and educational in nature only.
We do not guarantee that studying any topic, completing any roadmap, or achieving any quiz score will result in a particular interview outcome, job offer, or hiring decision.
Each topic is assigned an approximate difficulty label (such as Intermediate, Advanced, or Expert) to help guide learners toward content appropriate to their preparation level. These labels are generated to be indicative and are intended as a general learning aid only.
We do not guarantee that a topic's assigned difficulty conforms to any official industry standard, employer's classification, or third-party assessment.
Topic overviews, key concepts, examples, and other content may occasionally contain inaccuracies, omissions, simplifications, ambiguities, or errors.
Users should independently verify important technical, interview-preparation, or professional information where appropriate, and should not treat the app as a substitute for official documentation or a qualified mentor.
This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India.
Any disputes arising in connection with this policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
