Privacy Policy: LangBlitz

Last updated: July 24, 2026

LangBlitz ("the app") is provided by MortalApps ("we", "us", "our"). The app is designed with a privacy-conscious approach and aims to minimize unnecessary collection of user data wherever possible.

LangBlitz is a vocabulary-learning app that uses spaced repetition to help you build and retain a word library across CEFR levels, with quizzes, streaks, and a visual "Vocabulary World" exploration view.

1. Information Handling Overview

1.1 Personal Data

We do not require user accounts and do not intentionally collect personal information such as:

1.2 Data Stored on Your Device

Most learning progress and activity data is stored locally on your device. This may include:

This locally stored data generally remains on your device unless you:

1.3 Usage Analytics

With your permission where required by applicable law, LangBlitz may collect analytics and technical diagnostics information to understand app usage, improve learning features, measure engagement, support premium functionality, optimize monetization, and help sustain the app experience.

Analytics data falls into the following general categories:

Analytics data is generally behavioral and technical in nature and is not intended to directly identify individual users. Purchase and subscription analytics events may include the monetary value and currency of a transaction; this is used for business reporting and advertising optimization purposes (see 1.4) and is not linked to payment card or banking details, which we never receive (see 4.2).

We do not intentionally use analytics to:

Analytics collection can be turned off from within the app (Settings, "Share analytics"), subject to technical and platform limitations.

1.4 Firebase Analytics & Google Services

LangBlitz uses Firebase Analytics and related Google services to collect usage analytics, app diagnostics, engagement metrics, conversion information, and monetization insights.

Firebase and related Google services may automatically collect technical information including:

Analytics data, including anonymized purchase and subscription value events, may be used to understand which features, engagement patterns, or user segments are associated with:

Some analytics information, including purchase value data, may be used in connection with Google advertising products, including audience measurement, conversion tracking, value-based bid optimization, remarketing, and improving the relevance or effectiveness of promotions and advertisements. Where this occurs, the data used is anonymized/pseudonymous at the advertising-platform level and is not intentionally linked back to your name, email, or other directly identifying information, which we do not collect.

We do not intentionally use analytics data to directly identify individual users.

1.5 Word and Quiz Reports

If you choose to report a word card, quiz question, or other content issue, the app transmits:

Reports are used solely to review and improve content quality and accuracy.

Please do not include personal information (such as your name, email address, phone number, or other identifying details) in the free-text details field. This field is optional and intended only for describing the content issue itself.

1.6 AI-Assisted Learning Content

Word definitions, nuances, example sentences, collocations, synonyms and antonyms, etymology and mnemonics, quiz questions, and related learning materials within the app are generated or assisted using artificial intelligence (AI) systems.

While we strive to review and improve content quality, this material may still contain inaccuracies, omissions, ambiguities, or outdated information. The app is intended for vocabulary-learning and self-study purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional, academic, or exam-admission advice.

1.7 Reset, Export, and Import

Export progress (Premium) lets you save your locally stored review history and settings as a file you control, for backup or transfer to another device. Import progress (Premium) restores from a file you previously exported. These files are created and stored by you, using your device's own file storage or sharing options; we do not receive a copy.

Reset All Progress permanently deletes your review history, streak data, and daily counters from your device. It does not affect your Premium subscription status, which is managed independently through RevenueCat and Google Play (see 4.3).

2. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Where applicable under GDPR or similar privacy regulations, analytics, diagnostics, and related processing activities may be carried out:

3. Permissions

Permission Purpose
INTERNET Used to load word content updates, process purchases, submit optional reports, support analytics, and enable app-related online functionality.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS Used for optional daily review reminders and streak-related notifications.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED Used to reschedule your daily review reminder after your device restarts.
REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS Used to help ensure scheduled reminders fire reliably on devices with aggressive battery management.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Firebase Analytics & Google Services

LangBlitz uses Firebase Analytics and related Google services for analytics, diagnostics, monetization insights, audience measurement, and advertising optimization.

Firebase and Google services are operated by Google.

4.2 Google Play Billing

Purchases are processed securely through Google Play. We do not receive or store payment card information, banking details, or billing credentials.

4.3 RevenueCat

LangBlitz uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, entitlements, and purchase/restore functionality. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription event data (such as product identifier, purchase date, and entitlement status) solely to verify and manage your Premium access across devices.

4.4 Content Report Submission

Optional word and quiz issue reports are transmitted securely via HTTPS for review and content-quality improvement.

5. Data Retention

Most learning progress data remains locally on your device.

Analytics, diagnostics, advertising, and conversion-related information may be retained by Google and Firebase according to their applicable retention policies. Entitlement and subscription records are retained by RevenueCat for as long as needed to manage your Premium access.

We do not maintain traditional personal user accounts or cloud-based personal learning profiles.

5.1 Automatic Device Backup

LangBlitz supports Android's built-in Auto Backup feature. This means your locally stored progress and settings may be included in your device's Google Account backup, subject to Google's own backup and storage policies, and may be restored automatically if you reinstall the app on the same Google Account. Manually clearing app data, or reinstalling on a different Google Account, does not restore this data automatically; use Export/Import (see 1.7) to migrate progress in those cases.

6. User Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights relating to:

9.1 Exam Tag Disclaimer

Some word cards display exam tags, such as IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT, CAT, Civil Services, ACT, LSAT, AP, MCAT, and PTE, to help guide which words are commonly relevant to learners preparing for those exams. These tags are generated to be indicative and educational in nature only.

9.2 CEFR Level Disclaimer

Each word is assigned an approximate CEFR level (A1 through C2) to help guide learners toward vocabulary appropriate to their proficiency. These assignments are generated to be indicative and are intended as a general learning aid only.

We do not guarantee that a word's assigned CEFR level conforms to any official CEFR framework rating, examination body's classification, or third-party assessment. The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is maintained by the Council of Europe, with which we have no affiliation.
